During the Second World War, the First Polish Armoured Division was actively involved in the liberation of The Netherlands from Brabant to Groningen. Because of this, the war documentation of this army unit is of great importance when conducting historical preliminary research in these regions. This was the reason why the Preliminary Research Department of ECG recently visited the Sikorski Institute in London.

Most of the documentation in the Sikorski Institute in London relates to the period of the Second World War 1939-1945 and Poland's role in it. Of importance for ECG's research in tracing wartime operations in the Netherlands are the documents relating to the Polish armed forces, including attack plans of Polish corps, divisions, regiments and battalions. In addition to Dutch, British, American, Canadian and German sources, ECG now also has Polish war documentation at its disposal. With these primary sources, the analysis of project locations becomes even more complete, factual and traceable.
